blue right-pointing arrow GOES Science Project - This site has real-time, full-resolution weather images from the GOES satellites in a calibrated, earth-located format. It offers scrapbooks of historically important events and technical documentation about the popular GOES satellite system.  [keywords: weather, GOES, hurricane] (Added: 14-Aug-1999 Hits: 1250)  [Spider Link]
blue right-pointing arrow Precipitation Estimates - In the course of their work, the precipitation research groups in the Mesoscale Atmospheric Processes Branch (MAPB) have constructed a number of data sets containing estimates of precipitation. Some estimates are sufficiently well developed that other researchers might find the data and associated products useful. Potential users are urged to pay careful attention to the differences among the data sets and to check back for updates to the data sets. Questions should be directed to the data set originators. All local binary data sets are held in Silicon Graphics (big endian) format and are available for download.  [keywords: Precipitation, ENSO, GPROF, GPCP, TRMM] (Added: 24-Aug-1999 Hits: 1119)  [Spider Link]
blue right-pointing arrow The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) - The main goal of TRMM is to better understand the global energy and water cycles by providing distributions of rainfall and inferred heating over the entire tropics. TRMM will help us understand the mechanisms by which tropical rainfall and its variability influence global circulation. It will improve our ability to model these processes, with the ultimate goal being the prediction of global circulation and rainfall variability at monthly and longer time scales.  [keywords: Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission, TRMM] (Added: 18-Nov-2003 Hits: 390)  [Spider Link]
