blue right-pointing arrow AERONET (Sun Photometer Global Network) - AERONET (AErosol RObotic NETwork) is an optical ground based aerosol monitoring network and data archive supported by NASA's Earth Observing System and expanded by federation with many non-NASA institutions. The network hardware consists of identical automatic sun-sky scanning spectral radiometers owned by national agencies and universities. Data from this collaboration provides globally distributed near real time observations of aerosol spectral optical depths, aerosol size distributions, and precipitable water in diverse aerosol regimes.  [keywords: AERONET, Sun Photometer Global Network, aerosol spectral optical depths, aerosol size distributions, precipitable water] (Added: 6-Jun-1999 Hits: 1106)  [Spider Link]
blue right-pointing arrow Global Fire Monitoring - The purpose of this site is to explain and illustrate current and future global fire monitoring capabilities. The data links section is being expanded to increase accessibility to current data. Information will be updated as new technologies, data products, and approaches emerge, enhancing our understanding of and capabilities in monitoring fires on a global scale.  [keywords: Fire emissions, satellite systems, images, EOS generation sensors, global data products] (Added: 11-Aug-1999 Hits: 1334)  [Spider Link]
